Scholarship student George Brough has been awarded the Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund annual prize for achievement. The Brighton-born student achieved a first class honours degree in Fashion Management with Marketing from Southampton Solent University this summer.

On receiving his award, George, who is now working as an intern at a top London fashion PR company, said: “I am delighted to win this prize. Winning a Lisa Wilson Scholarship enabled me to get through my course without having huge financial worries. That, together with the support and advice of my tutors on the course, has been a huge asset throughout my course.”

This summer the fund reached the phenomenal total of £240,000 and took the total number of scholarships, worth up to £1000 per year for the duration of their course, to 68.

Mandela Photo

Following an application from Mandela Lewis the charity has decided to support her in her quest to become a veterinarian. In 2012 Mandela graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London with a 2:1degree in bioveterinary science. She has now enrolled in the Veterinary Science Degree Course at the University of Liverpool where she is taking an accelerated course that will last four years. We are proud to be able to help her fulfill her educational dreams in the way that Lisa did and wish her every success in her career development.
