£750 raised in two days

On Friday 28th August, friends and family joined together the day after the wedding of Lisa’s brother Ross and his new bride Donna Enticknap for a curry night at the Royal Jaipur in Landford and raised £340 for the charity.

On Saturday 29th August a party was held at Nomansland to celebrate Lisa’s mum, Tricias 60th birthday, her brother Andy’s 50th birthday, and the recent wedding of Ross and Donna.  A signed photograph that had been donated to the Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund by Celine Dion was raffled and raised £410.

Family news – Ross and Donna’s wedding

On Thursday 27th of August, Lisa’s brother Ross was married to Donna Enticknap in the tiny Roman temple in the Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset.  It was a small private ceremony attended by close friends and relatives with further guests arriving for the evening reception.  Music was provided by sitar and tabla players, an accordion player, and later a live set from The Huckleberries before Ross and Donna departed for their honeymoon.

Lisa’s journals stolen by burglar… but then returned!

Two weeks ago Clive and Trish returned from holiday to find that their house had been burgled. Amongst the items stolen along with the safe were Lisa’s journals and all the postcards she had sent during her travels. Devastated, Clive contacted the Daily Echo asking them to run an article in hopes of tracking down the burglar.. After a piece by Mike Osman on the local Radio Solent and the article in the Echo, Clive and Trish were asked to appear on Meridian News, to appeal for help.  On the night of Thursday 11th December, while Clive and Trish were at a Christmas party, the burglar crept back to the scene of the crime and left the journals and postcards in the front porch.

Since then there has been a rush of interest in this story, with newspapers and television news crews arriving at the house desperate to cover what has turned out to be a heartwarming Christmas tale with a happy ending. The Wilsons have now appeared on Meridian News and the ITV News at Ten, and have been approached by That’s Life magazine to run an article on the story.

There has been a LOT of press coverage! The news so far…

Commemorative donations help to swell the Fund

Following the death of Lisa’s Grandfather, Peter Wilson, on 2nd August 2008, we would just like to thank everybody who made donations to the charity instead of flowers and feel sure my father, Peter, would be very happy knowing that young people will benefit from these donations.

Lisa’s grandfather has passed away

We regret to inform you that Lisa’s grandad Peter Wilson passed away on Saturday August 2nd. He had been in Salisbury hospital for six days and died of septicemia brought on by various infections. He had been in decline for several months and went down hill over the last few weeks. He is at peace now and I’m sure that Lisa and her grandmother will be showing him the ropes up high.

Saturday was also the 6th Lisa Wilson Golf Day which over two hundred people attended. The day was a great success and everyone was dancing to the Drifters, i’m sure they were rocking in heaven, what a great send off.

The funeral will take place on Monday 11th August at 2.15pm at Salisbury crematorium. There will be family flowers and donations to the Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund. For further information please contact Clive Wilson on 07798922222 or at Peartree Cottage, Nomansland, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP5 2BN
