X-Factor finalists Same Difference topped the bill on Saturday July 28th at Wellow Golf Club for the entertainment at the Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund’s 10th Annual Golf Day. The event raised over £7500 for the charity. Over 120 members played in the members’ Golf competition and some 40 family members guests and sponsors played in a separate competition.
During the evening, deputy director of Solent University Martin Nailor presented Clive and Tricia Wilson with a cheque for £1627 as 50% of the funds raised at the recent Ex Saints v team Solent at the opening of Southampton Solent’s new sports facility at Test Park Nursling.

On Sunday 20th May, an Ex Saints eleven lead by ‘Le God’ himself Matthew Le Tissier took on Team Solent in a charity football match to raise funds for The Lisa Wilson Scholarship Fund and The Ex Saints charities.
The match marked the opening at Solent University’s new £3.8 million sports centre at Test Park, Nursling, Southampton. Prior to the kick off Vice Chancellor; Professor Van Gore and Matthew Le Tissier unveiled a plaque to commemorate the opening of the ground.
The game was been played in great spirit started with some excellent football and Ex Saints former player Steve Baker scoring a great goal from 20 yards by lobbing the keeper. Team Solent hit back to equalize with a great strike from Will Tickle who went on to score a hat-trick and be man of the match. The younger legs carried Team Solent to a 4-1 victory and they appropriately lifted the Lisa Wilson Charity Cup. Approximately 1,000 people turned out to watch the match which comedian and broadcaster Mike Osman carried out the running commentary. The proceeds from the game are to be split between the two charities.
